What type of face paint does Deanna use at a Face Painting Party? All paints and glitters used at a face painting party are professional, cosmetic grade, hypoallergenic, FDA approved. Face painting paints and glitter are made for skin only.
Does face paint wash off easily? To remove the face painting makeup after a party, use a dark cloth and a gentle cleanser. Baby or kids’ shampoos work well to remove face paint because of their “tear-free” feature. Lather, wipe, rinse, and repeat – but NO scrubbing; scrubbing can irritate gentle faces. Face paint will come off the skin with very little rubbing and gentle rinsing. While trace stains of face paint may occasionally remain, they can be easily removed by applying a moisturizing lotion, waiting at least 30 minutes, and washing again.
How old does a child have to be to get their face painted at a face painting party? This really depends on the child, usually about 3 years old they are able to sit still long enough to get a small design on. If your child does not like their face to be touched we can always put something on a hand, leg, or arm.
How long does each child take to be face painted at a face painting party? The amount of time it takes to face paint each design at a face painting party varies greatly. Standard face painting designs take anywhere from 4 - 8 mins. More complex designs will take a bit longer depending on how intricate it is and the size of the face paint design.
What about germs? At a face painting party we will not paint the face of anyone who appears sick. We can always paint on the arm, leg or hand in that case. We won’t paint on an open sore or cut, or a skin rash. During the party, we use hand sanitizer and baby wipes generously. After each face painting event, we wash all tablecloths, wash cloths and sponges in hot, soapy water and soak our brushes in a brush cleaner which cleans and sanitizes them for the next event.
